Groupon finds out about the history behind Teppanyaki cooking, and the fresh, local ingredients that the eatery uses.
What does the word ‘teppanyaki’ mean?
It literally means iron plate, and originates from the legend that said that Samurai warriors used the interior of their body armour as an iron griddle for cooking food.
What kinds of ingredients are used?
The family restaurant uses fresh, high-quality, local ingredients in preparing its fare, including free-range eggs from Antrobus Farm in Cheshire, fresh chicken from Cumbria, and beef sourced from the borders of England and Scotland.
What kind of food is served?
A wide variety of teppanyaki dishes are on the menu, including sea bass and king prawns, prime sirloin of beef, and breast of duckling. Sushi and sashimi also make appearances, along with a range of tasty appetisers, such as tempura and edamame.

The restaurant is situated in the heart of Manchester, within Chinatown, and surrounded by the bars and restaurants that define the city’s bustling nightlife.
