Steeped in history, Parsonage Farm has been run by the same family for nearly 100 years, overlooking the rolling hills and valleys of Dartmoor. The farm’s activities during World Ward One inspired Michael Morpurgo’s novel War Horse, and was also once home to Revered John ‘Jack’ Russell, the first breeder of the terriers that bear his name. War Horse Valley Country Farm Park consists of the farm and surrounding land, offering a host of activities for the whole family, from seeing sheep, pigs and miniature ponies to following the granite rollers along the Tarka Trail. There is also a chance to explore the evolution of farming techniques and learn more about WW1’s famous horses.
