Perched on the banks of the River Ribble, Riverside Barn sits within the rural village of Ribchester, complete with olde worlde buildings, pubs and gardens. Although small, the village provides a bevy of sightseeing opportunities, from the Roman Baths to the picturesque Stydd Gardens and St. Wilfrid’s Church. A short 8-minute drive brings guests to the Forest of Bowland, home to many species of wildlife, archaeological projects and acres of rolling hills. Slightly further afield, the city of Preston can be found, where visitors may opt to meander around the shops, sample a range of restaurants, or take a visit to the historic Preston Docks. Meanwhile, a drive in the opposite direction brings guests to Blackburn, where art galleries, theatres and country parks abound. With only two guest rooms on-site, Riverside Barn offers a peaceful retreat for guests. Both suites are on the ground floor, with en suite facilities, a four-poster bed, DVD player, Xbox and underfloor heating. While the Ribble Suite offers river views as well as a double bed settee, the Hothersall Suite includes a roll-top bath and views of the old farmyard. Adding to the luxurious feel of the hotel, guests will be brought a breakfast hamper filled with a selection of food and drink. Alongside toasted bagels with smoked salmon, the hamper includes items such as muesli, bran flakes, fruit, coffee and yoghurt.
