Set in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside, on the doorstep of the wolds, Ark Wildlife Park is a Lincolnshire zoo that started as an act of kindness. Originally intended as a home to mistreated exotic animals, it currently accommodates a wide variety of creatures, offering the most diverse range of species in the area, ranging from intriguing mammals and reptiles to fearsome carnivores and familiar farmyard friends. Throughout the year, enjoy their unique animal encounter shows with both furry and scaly residents, with their skilled keepers answering any questions, visitors may have, themed events are held through out the year during the school holidays, and the doors remain open in all weather thanks to indoor attractions such as the Tropical House or Activity Barn with indoor climbing frames and giant sandpit and on those sunny days the kids can enjoy their well equipped outdoor play area. Locally made cakes, savouries and drinks can be enjoyed at the Kalahari Cafe. Every day visitors can expect to come face to face with the zoo's residents, including giant snakes, meerkats, caiman crocodiles, raccoons, chameleons, foxes, iguanas and many more. Anyone can tickle a skunk, gain a newfound appreciation for snakes or see the secretive Eurasian lynx in the flesh, there is always something new and exciting at the ARK.
Great trip. Lovely place, fab tasty homemade food. Rate highly. Will go again. May even get a season ticket.
Would have been disappointed if had to pay full price. Enough to do and see for a few hours. Needs a good clean up and a lick of paint here and there but animals seem to be well looked after and staff that we met are friendly
The talks about animals very interesting.
Without good weather you probably wont be there long but we stayed for 4 hours. Lovely place, friendly helpful staff and animals well looked after, would recommend at groupon prices
We brought as a groupon but would have been disappointed if had to pay full price. Animals well cared for but not much to see. There’s a little cafe on site but I would recommend sticking to sandwiches or food that you know is fresh as we had pasta and soup and it tasted like it had been reheated. Ok to pass an hour.
It isn't signed very well, it looks neglected. The outdoor play area had VERY long grass, it was also waterlogged at one end. Some of the kids toys were broken. Some of the enclosures were overgrown with nettles and looked abandoned but there were actually animals in them. It just seemed as if there was either too much work and not enough staff to keep it nice or there wasn't enough care.
Nice place enjoyed the animals and it's lovely for children to get to hold them and interact. The only thing is it could do with a tidy up specially the walk ways they was very difficult to walk on. Also there could be more for bigger children e.g a zip wire etc as my little ones enjoyed the play area but bigger children are a little bored. Overall had a great day out with lovely staff.
The animals were happy. Otherwise it is a little depressing place with a horrid cafe.(Waited 50 minutes for a 50 ml portion of soup )
Animals appeared well looked after and had nice pens. Should have taken wellies though, as it was very muddy all over. Had lunch in the café and the food was reasonably priced and of good quality.
Lovely little find!!
Ark wildlife park is full of beautiful rescued animals The staff are really friendly, nothing is to much for them & they adore all of the animals.. the cafe is fab it's clean, has lots to choose from & is reasonably priced, same goes for the gift shop there is something for everyone here. Also has indoor & outdoor play areas which is a bonus if it rains 10/10 from us.
