From Our Editors

Cannington Walled Gardens is a botanical paradise, with picturesque gardens providing a tranquil setting for a casual stroll. Set within the grounds of a medieval priory, the gardens have both classic and contemporary features such as a shade border, a sub-tropical walk, the 'blue garden', and a botanical glasshouse filled with arid, tropical and sub-tropical plants. There is also a plant nursery gift shop and tea rooms, enabling guests to take a load off and enjoy some refreshments. Those with annual membership can benefit from unlimited access to the gardens.

A well set out garden with lots of interesting and varied plants. It was nice to see a wild flower section and the insect house (which was very interesting). Plenty of places to sit and soak up the atmosphere. Well worth a visit if you are into plants.

Spent a lovely day wandering around the gardens. Cafe is alright for just tea and coffee but wandered off to pub for lunch.

Lovely gardens to walk around particularly on a sunny day. Parking can be difficult.

The gardens are always a pleasure and you can be assured of friendly welcome. In the past, parking was permitted in the courtyard, which is now a garden, and so we had to find a parking space up the hill in the student parking area.EDF have taken over the building and have their own carpark, which is managed. It may be easier at the weekend, and during college holidays.

Pleasant for non experts who just like nice restful places. Excellent for true gardeners. Parking excellent. Catering appallingly slow. If you want lunch go for breakfast. If you want tea go for lunch! Perhaps we were unfortunate, but be warned. But still worth a trip if reasonably nearby.

Well worth visiting. Really nice relaxing gardens. Lots of interesting plants and places to sit and contemplate.Very reasonably priced plants for sale. Pleasant tea rooms for snacks or light lunch. The only negative was the parking only 5 allocated parking spaces in the car park so could be difficult at busy times
