Based in an ancient listed building constructed in 1726, Jolly Sailor is a historic riverside pub overlooking Saltford Lock. The extensive menu features dishes ranging from light bites to meat and fish options, as well as daily specials that can be complemented with a fine selection of real ales, international beers and wines.
Home cooked food and friendly staff but menu choice for Groupons limited especially desserts. Would have preferred to be able to pay the difference between what's allowed and what's on the regular menu.
Staff were very polite, friendly and attentive
Lovely pub, wonderful atmosphere.
The staff are very attentive without being pushy or over the top.
The food is lovely and very filling. I will 100% be going back.
Not what I expected! The place was dirty and I booked a table that the barman knew nothing about. We wasn't given a menu either (even though I said we had booked for food)
I ordered the famous beer battered fish which, I think came from Tescos frozen aisle.
But what amazed me was when I asked for tartar sauce I was given a heinze squeeze bottle.
I wish I'd gone to my local chippy
The food was really average. The only choice of dessert was fried waffle and ice cream or fried waffle with custard. So if you don’t like fried waffle your not having dessert. Two of us didnt have it. The other two weren’t impressed. It was Friday night and we were the only people eating there. Says it all
Very friendly staff and food Was really nice too
Fantastic service! Easy booking. Lovely food. Can recommend the fish and chips and steak. More dessert choices would be good.
Great food, great setting, great service
Will definitely go again!
Lovely location, was a bit disappointed with my meal. Had my favourite started, deep fried Brie, first was served and was frozen in the middle, this was replaced with marginally better cooked wedges!
Main course was lovely, fish and chips, but dessert was a choice of waffle or ice cream sundae. I expected a bigger menu.
All said I would return again to give them a second chance 😉
A bargain in terms of what you get and a sweet little pub run by lovely people.
