From Our Editors

Open daily throughout the year, the Furnace Tearoom offers an appetising selection of traditional homemade cakes and breads, baked onsite in our bakery each morning. Still warm from the griddle, our Welsh Cakes are often made using the dairy’s homemade buttermilk; and our tasty bara-brith is created following an authentic farm house recipe.

Fabulous food and plenty of it, had to take a doggie bag home! Staff were very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. Well worth a visit and we definitely be going back, not just for the food, which all looked delicious but also for the farm shops there as well.

Delicious tea and friendly service even though we were not in the actual Hayloft Restaurant at Bodnant.

Well to start with the Afternoon tea was NOT in the Hayloft Restaurant so slightly disappointed that we were in the normal cafe. The afternoon tea with prosecco was ok but if you are expecting dainty sandwiches & little cakes think again! We called it a Rustic Afternoon Tea & that was being nice to them. The bread was cut very thick & we only given two choices of fillings! The cake slabs, I call them slabs because they were were huge, so off putting & could have fed four people. The worst part for us was that the scone was cold & the cream was squirty cream filled in a container!:( How bad is that, the farm shop sells double cream etc how much nicer to have proper cream! The service was pleasant but very slow. All in all would not recommend this even at discounted price!

Firstly, the afternoon tea is served in the cafe, which is pleasant, NOT the Hayloft as advertised. Booking is not ideal. It has to be booked online, which I did, and received a confirmation from Groupon. However, when we got there the staff didn't have a booking from us. However the staff were very helpful and friendly and the afternoon tea was brilliant. Hope this helps any future buyers.

We enjoyed excellent service and mounds of delicious food. The sandwich choice was wide and made with wonderful bread. The cakes were plentiful and reflected Welsh cooking. Everything was delicious and we were absolutely replete at the end.
