Lovely afternoon tea, quiet location with a nice outside space.

Great atmosphere and good food.

Very polite helpful staff who did every they could to make our afternoon enjoyable without being intrusive.

Beautiful setting for the afternoon tea. The sandwiches were fresh and the cakes very nice. It would have been nice if the scones had been warm.

We’ve been before and actually stayed at the hotel as we love the location and will continue to return. We also love our afternoon teas, lost count on endless ones we’ve had ! We returned this time on a groupon premium Prosecco afternoon tea ! Greeted by the friendly manager, apologies didn’t get your name, he kindly showed us to two possibilities of outdoor seating areas for us to choose from, of course we had totally gone to be by the river, absolutely stunning location. We where extremely relieved that there where some umbrellas which was important in this present heat, the pictures on website did show umbrellas but when I enquired I was told there where no umbrellas, then I queried further and sent in picture from hotel website but was told cannot be guaranteed a umbrella even if you request/reserve a table ! Sadly there were only two umbrellas, really suggest increasing this as everyone was after one or some shade somewhere by the river. We finally settled on a little table in the corner shaded by the tree which worked for us. Only thing with this that this floor area needed a clean, dirty and full of cigarette butts ! Actually there were no ashtrays around ! Chloe our waitress was amazying and a extremely helpful lovely girl. The following should be seen as positive feedback …. A afternoon tea is a lovely little treat, maybe a table cloth would be nice on the metal tables ! Not sure why the heading premium is used and somewhat misleading, the afternoon tea was okay but not premium … The sandwiches where fresh, but average, the cream cheese/cucumber rather dull and quality of ham used could be improved especially if stated as premium ! No smoked salmon or chicken as usual with premium afternoon tea. We were happy to see choice of plain or fruit scones but sadly the scones where the worst thing of the afternoon tea, over baked, poor quality didn’t look or taste like scone ! The cheesecake was okay but more like a mouse but the carrot cake was delicious !

Poor experience, only one member of staff working which meant a lot of waiting. I was asked about dietary requirements before hand which was then not followed on the day. Can understand why they are on groupon, would not recommend unfortunately. Over valued and not worth the money.
