I visited for "The Giant Lanterns of China," which was a superb event.
I did some research and knew there were 450 lanterns but the size and quality of them all was absolutely amazing.
They had all 12 Chinese Zodiac characters each about 10 foot tall. They had a Chinese Dragon that was as tall as a house and as long as three terraces. They also had a beautiful temple made of lights.
I was also very impressed with how everything was put together with lanterns designed to look like blossoms all along the path and in front of the temple which made for fantastic photographs.
Bring a camera as even as even an average photographer can get art quality images.
I went with my girlfriend and it was actually quite romantic. There were also some lovely little shops with quality Chinese gifts like stone cut Zodiac pendants and not cheap resign ones.
NOTE: The mention in the advertising that you cannot see actual animals but some people seemed not to be aware of this.
FOOD: I thought the food was ok but expensive and it was all crowded. Personally, I'd recommend booking to eat afterwards outside the event. Cosmos in town has a fantastic Pan Asian buffet, really good food and as much as you can eat for the same price as a dish at this event.
NOT TO BE MISSED EVENT.
