From Our Editors
The Old Chain Pier is situated on the verges of the Edinburgh coast on the site of 19th-century docks. The eatery is located around 15 minutes’ drive from both central Edinburgh and Leith and benefits from far-reaching views of the sea. The kitchen prepares regional seafood delicacies such as cullen skink and Scottish mussels while Mexican and Italian-inspired dishes provide flavours from further afield. Chefs harness locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and also offer brunch and buffet menus and a range of children’s favourites. Fare is complemented by craft beers and cask ales as well as international wines and spirits. The classically styled interior sports patterned feature walls, ambient lighting and framed artwork, while terrace seating overlooks the water. The pub welcomes canine visitors, exhibits local artwork and regularly plays host to live music and seasonally themed events.
