Afternoon tea was very pleasant but service a bit slow - not the classiest afternoon tea around but well worth the groupon price

Don't go there, the A La Carte Menu is too much for the chef to handle- for a mains meal with vegetables they put a small salad on the hot plate with the meat on it-why??? The vegetables are overcooked and just peas and sweetcorn mixture and a few carrots- not what I would call a selection of vegetables. This is topped with chips and some medium sized jacketed potatoes. Not inspiring nor appetising, poor response from the staff to our mention about the meal, one apologetic the other tried to fob us off with her version that people may want a choice of potatoes- what rubbish. No manager around to discuss anything with. Not a good advert for a Groupon deal

Our second visit for afternoon tea. Service was good but scones stale/hard again. The first visit we sent them back for replacements. This time we didn't bother. This time 1 tiny dish of jam and cream to share. Whereas last time we'd had 1 each. Last time we had 2 bite size cakes each this time only 1 each. The coffee and walnut cake had no evidence of any walnuts. Disappointing food.

Signs on how to get into the hotels car-park needs to be higher up- cars parked in front off fit and close to the entrance, difficult to see, its a very sharp right hand turn of the roundabout. Waiter pleasant but did not know for example which were the four cheeses used in the four different cheese starter, also forgot to bring mint sauce when asked for two times, despite only us being in the dinning room that lunch time. Vegetable selection was lovely, not overcooked or soggy. we had the glass of wine each included which we thouroughly enjoyed thank you.

Lovely afternoon tea and everyone was so friendly I took 4 nieces as a treat aged between 6 and 12 and our waitress was so lovely making the girls feel special and even arranging the sandwiches to be made the way they liked them. The food was delicious and we didn't feel rushed
