From Our Editors

An entertaining time for a whole family awaits at the Lathe Barn, a tearoom and farm refurbished to provide fun and safe time for all. An on-site cafe serves a variety of light bites and sweet treats and even selection of baby food for the youngest of guests. While adults enjoy their time over the pot of tea, children can spend their energy at the miniature railway or on the adventure playground. Other activities available for them include a soft play area and a petting farm where kids can meet some of the farm's animal inhabitants.

Nice place for children but path uneven for tractors and should be smoother for safety. Train not working again.

I’ve been coming for years and years - my sons are in their 20’s and my twins are 8 - it was always pretty basic fun but is really really run down now - there just isn’t any enthusiasm in the place - it could be so much better - pushing the food side of the place too much now and the animals are literally non existent ! They look traumatised and unhealthy in the dark dirty shed - the free fairground rides were great - my girls had about 6 goes as it wasn’t busy but the go carts were taken over by ‘much to old to be there’ kids - the train was broken - the climbing tractor looks like it may collapse at any moment and even though we arrived just after opening time there was vomit in the soft play part and it stank! such a shame because it could be absolutely lovely there - and now I’ve grandchildren I’d love to come for another 10 years! Maybe the management need to visit badgers hill for tips and not focus so much on the extra shop fronts of really expensive food they are selling! A basic menu would be much better as I’m not paying £1.50 for a slice of toast and I’m sure no one else will be! More hand on for the kids and maybe even a little camping for extra revenue- I’d definitely pay to camp the night there with the kids as it’s a beautiful setting xx it’s a 2 out of 10 for me sadly 😢
