We went for the weekend afternoon tea which was buffet style, I;ve never seen so much choice in terms of cakes. Sandwiches were good and so were pastries. Scones were the best too. Would definitely recommend!

Having been for afternoon tea once before and had afternoon teas in various places, I would say this was the worst experience and indeed not even worththe cost of the train fare to get there. Started with tea from a chipped teapot, the tea not being made from boiling water. When challenged, was advised by waitress that they don't make the water! I am inclined to agree. The sandwiches were more like tapas and the 'fillings' were placed on very dry bread. The cakes were fine and indeed, 'enjoyable' as were the scones but when asked if they had any fruit scones, was advised they don't do that! Staff pleasant but training did not show well. The highlight was the Prosecco. No atmosphere and the tables were more canteen like. Our table was for two people and was so cramped that I spilt my drink all over my new trousers. Wont grace this establishment again. Glad to get home.
