From Our Editors

Customers looking for a new way of sightseeing can enjoy a ride through Edinburgh or Glasgow in a vintage 1966 Routemaster Bus. Tours start at Edinburgh Bus Station, before winding their way through the best-known landmarks of the Scottish capital, including the historic Royal Mile, Princess Street and George IV Bridge. Glasgow tours, meanwhile, show visitors sites such as Provand’s Lordship, the upmarket West End, Glasgow University, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and the Transport Museum. While enjoying the views and listening to a commentary from the staff, participants can feast on a variety of dishes. Red Bus Bistro strives to use fresh, local ingredients to create traditional Scottish flavours.

My cousin and I booked on the Edinburgh tour which was 1st class. I had the beef burger and my cousin the deli board. We both thought the food was lovely and well presented. We would highly recommend this especially if you want a tour of either Glasgow or Edinburgh while eating good food. The staff were very helpful and attentive making sure everyone was enjoying themselves.

Neil who took my booking was very helpful and tolerant. I had to call him back twice to amend the dates which he did with no problem.

This was a fantastic experience. The red bus was spotlessly clean and the staffnwere really welcoming and friendly. We got a two seated table upstairs so we trundled along around Edinburgh on a great sunny day having afternoon tea. The cakes, sandwiches, scones, tea and prosecco were all fresh and tasty. served on a slate tiered stack which looked really nicely presented. We took our time, talked quite a lot and ate while we took in the sights. The bus was authentic even the shocks bumping along which i felt was really funny and everybody on the bus was talking and laughing so much it was a really great experience and day out. I do intend to go back and try the burger meal on the bus next time but I would definitely recommend it. What set it apart from pretty much every other type of service was that inhadnt received the email and the IVR let me callnthe manager directly to speak to her personally and get the confirmation. This was exceptional service. Thank you. Best regards Andrew.
