Kelly was not at the salon when I arrived on time for my appointment. I rang her mobile and she apologised and said she was delayed in her car by road diversions. She arrived ten minutes later and apologised again, which was reassuring. The first treatment was a file and polish, I chose fingernails. She placed a large plastic box of nail polish bottles on the bed and asked me to choose a colour. Sadly the whole presentation was awful, a jumbled mix, and unfortunately the colour I chose was unusable as she couldn't manage to remove the lid. We selected an alternative which I was happy with. The next treatment was a back massage. I had to lay on the bed BUT the only covering was a flimsy nylon scarf thing spread out, it didn't smell freshly laundered. There was no paper roll placed on top of that. I was unhappy at laying on something after the previous client. Kelly placed a towel over my back but I could smell that wasn't clean either. The third treatment was a facial. I hoped the face flannels used were freshly laundered. These flannels were also warmed up by placing them in a vegetable steamer sitting on the floor! After my treatments the nylon scarf was left on the bed and the towel folded and replaced on top exactly as it had been when I first entered the room...ready for the next client, I supposed. Kelly then asked me to leave my details and apologised for running out of forms so I had to write them on an envelope. Also the treatment room felt a little airless. Kelly was a lovely person and I enjoyed our chats but overall I wasn't completely satisfied with my trio of treatments. I did not complain to Kelly at the time as I didn't want to upset her. I wasn't expecting to be invited to complete a survey either but decided I should do.
