Surrounded by lush landscaped gardens and a vast golfing green, the four star Channels Lodge is housed in a 15th century Tudor building which still has many original features. Chelmsford is a 15-minute drive away, where visitors can explore the rich history of the town, including the quaint Chelmsford Cathedral, the Victorian railway viaduct, and Chelmsford Museum which is free to enter. All guest bedrooms feature super king-sized beds, en suite facilities with miniature luxury toiletries, LCD TVs, mini bar and hospitality tray. Each room is decorated in its own individual style. The hotel itself sits on The Cliffords Estate which is home to two golf courses. There are two restaurants within the grounds. The brasserie offers contemporary cuisine within the 14th century clubhouse and the bistro is conducive with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, housed in a restored barn conversion. Making visits extra special, the hotel offers packages with Champagne, flowers and chocolates in-room for ultimate decadence. These can be included for a supplement.
