Excavated to provide a meeting place for the club of an 18th-Century aristocrat, West Wycombe’s Hell-Fire Caves are now a site of historical fascination and a purported haunt for paranormal revellers. Over half a mile of winding underground passages links subterranean chambers that are entered through the eerie façade of a mock-Gothic church. The attraction hosts events to keep little ones entertained, such as a school of witchcraft and children's parties. Brave adults can tag along on a paranormal investigation using a variety of equipment to detect supernatural phenomena deep inside the caves.
It's okay if you're in the area but we were in and out within about 30 minutes. Not worth it if you're going to the area only for the caves.
Interesting, chilly & Spooky cave. Worth a visit with kids
Lovely caves, and stunning views from the church above
Caves interesting & good value, but outside very dated. Cafe & shop could be updated.
Very interesting place to visit. A bit surprised to read that, as pensioners, we could have bought the same tickets for £6.00 each which is £1.50 each less than the Groupon rate.
Don't need to book in advance. Has a fab cafe. But the whole thing takes just minutes to walk around.
Had a great time. Really interesting.
