Very dated rooms and decor. Internet is almost nil connection. Staff are fantastic and helpful.

I had a downstairs room next to a fire door that bleeped all night. In the end at 5:30am I went to reception to see if anyone was about and there were just loud music playing. When I reported it to the reception staff next morning, they were unsympathetic but said they would sort it, however when I returned to my room after breakfast, it was still doing it. The waiters at evening were disinterested and slow. The young bar maid was the only energetic happy thing about that place.

No lift. No help with the cases, and a lot of stairs! Disorganised and extremely long wait for evening meal....... over an hour and half to get our main course!

Staff brilliant but place appalling. Had to request change if room as could feel springs through matress; very limited menu - more like very poor pub food and had run out of courses and wine choice. Really disappointing and would not recommend

Do not stay at this hotel. The photographs used to advertise the deal will not be the room allocated to you. The hotel and rooms are dirty - seriously, the worst hotel we have stayed in, in the UK.

The food was lovely. It was everything else that let our experience down. Curtain hanging down in dining room. Paint missing off the skirting boards. Carpet patched in on the floor. Blueta k on woodwork. Hanging baskets outside on the fire escape with dead flowers in. A stone feature in the garden with a lady on top with part of her head missing and underneath the stone feature having a big chunk of stone missing from around it. Tatty garden table and chairs. Bleached fake trees at the entrance that should look green and they are yellow. And finally the room was very basic and quite shabby in places. It totally needs decorating in a lot of places and new carpets and the garden to be looked after.
