Nestled between the undulating greenery of the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, The Fat Lamb is a former coaching inn offering a tranquil base for exploring Cumbria’s natural and historic sites. Countryside lovers will not have to venture far, with the Crossbank Nature Reserve on the hotel’s doorstep, while the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Northern Pennines is a short drive away.
Bedroom appeared clean on arrival but closer inspection revealed a dirty room, dust behind the bed, bathroom floor dirty. The waitress tried to overcharge me on the drinks bill!
Lovely place for a quiet relaxing break
The staff did not seem to be interested, the breakfast was awful on be last day so bad we could not eat it
Location is good
We spend a birthday weekend at the hotel a week before Christmas. Hotel was so beautiful and very cozy! It was nice to spend time in the evenings by the fireplace with delicious snacks and wine. Service is also great! The only small downside was that at night the heating in the room was turned off and it was a bit cold. But we recommend it anyway!
