From Our Editors

Erected in the 14th and further developed in the 16th century, Harvington Hall is a moated manor house on an island situated in Kidderminster. Visitors have an opportunity to see a series of priest hides and Elizabethan wall paintings, and learn about the life of Roman Catholic families and clergy during the Reformation. Guests can also see a Georgian chapel and enjoy a light lunch or a snack at the Moatside Tearoom before browsing for souvenirs in the on-site gift shop.

It's a very beautiful building in lovely grounds, surrounded by a moat, with large carp swimming in it. It's worth having the guided tour, which is very informative, although there is an audio option, if you prefer. It's fascinating for finding out about the priest holes hidden around the building. I would certainly recommend anyone to pay a visit. It's my second, and I could happily go again. Almost forgot, there's a lovely cafe too with very helpful staff.

If you love history you will love this place. Not really suitable for the disabled as the floors are uneven, steps, stairs and low doors.

I would definitely recommend a visit. There are verbal and digital tours available for you to choose from. Its a great piece of living history that we are lucky to have. There are excellent facilities for picnics in lovely well managed gardens. The children loved the outdoor space. The coffee shop was top notch serving quality drinks and home made foods. However it was so busy at lunch time, to my disappointment, we could not get a table.

Very busy with many children as Half Term. Lady who took us round was excellent as she geared her talk to the ages of the children in the group including our 3 grandchildren 3,7 and 12, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed it. Many thanks and well done to the guide.
