The Works boasts a 25,000 square-foot skate park that caters to riders of varying skill levels. Opening in 2003, the outfit is now a full-blown charity, known as The Works Skatepark Charity is a safe secure environment for beginners and regulars to the sport. The ethos of the organisation is to make their facilities accessible and affordable to the public, with profits going into the park’s development, as well as helping projects that benefit the youth of Leeds. They aim to help children increase their exercise intake by working closely with schools and youth groups, with a number of group sessions run at the park. Special events, demos, and film openings are hosted at the venue with a number of high-profile professionals often attending.
