The Hotel has a wealth of historic features blended with modern facilities like the Spa and Leisure Club featuring a tropical themed indoor swimming pool, a spa bath, a sauna and steam room. An interesting menu may be savoured in the antique-panelled dining room, while the lounges and bars offer light lunches and snacks in a wonderful candlelit ambiance and open log fires. Really lovely day, spa being modernised but didn't affect our day. Great sauna and steam room, lovely warm pool and a great afternoon tea!

Sorry to say but our experience wasn't very pleasant at all. The whole place needs modernising and a deep clean, not the relaxing experience I'd hoped for The swimming pool was dirty and the spa pool was being refurbished by a builder ( which we weren't informed of at time of booking). It was also very difficult to book any treatments for the day. I was given several different mobile numbers of 'people they use' but they seem to think I needed to speak to someone else- all very confusing? The saving grace was the afternoon tea and the staff were polite and friendly. I just really wish I'd stayed at home, as it felt like a waste of a day off!

The pool was cloudy. The hot tub was cold. The spa area was filthy and in need of redecorating. The sauna and steam room were falling apart. On the plus points the staff were very nice and afternoon tea was good. It felt As though the management hadn't invested in this hotel for a long time. Such a shame for a historic building.

Rather strange decoration in pool area. Poor decor and not very clean. Jacuzzi too small and inadequate. Afternoon tea ok, but not to normal standards.

Wasn't the most luxurious place to go for a spa but was good & cheap, nice swimming pool, jacuzzi was small but ok, steam room & sauna. Afternoon tea was lovely but the bar lady could of smiled, actually most the staff apart from trainer & reception could learn to smile. But in all a good treat for my friend who has had a bad year.

The Spa here needs massive refurbishment! ITs very tired and a bit tatty especially the very strange changing rooms. I thought I was back in the 1980s with a crazy Eyptian theme to make your head ache. Appart from the pool which was nice, the gym and sauna were all very dated and in need of a massive makeover. If this spa day hadnt been so cheap I would have asked for my money back.
