The hotel is in a residential area. The staff was great and the food was also. I'd recommend it for a nice weekend get away. It's new name is the Hallmark.

The room was very small & tatty, the bed frame had a hole in it, the furniture was old & peeling, there was only one bedside table with the ironing board leaning up the wall, Check in was from 3pm & we arrived at 3.30 & was left waiting in the reception area while they finished cleaning the room. I definitely felt like we had the cheap groupon room .

Decent(ish) location. 10mins from the centre in car/£5-7 in a taxi. However rooms are dated & dirty (e.g. nets were actually brown from the dust which had gathered) though a revamp is apparently in the pipeline. Compared to a groupon stay i had at the hallmark manchester airport the 3course meal was vile, bar the pudding. Chicken dry, rib eye steak fatty and tasted frankly strange.
