From Our Editors

Used as a film and TV location over the years, Manorbier Castle is a 12th century Norman structure which sits in a village overlooking the scenic Manorbier Bay. The castle features millennia-old architecture, complete with wax figures and atmospheric music to set the scene. A ticket will allow visitors to explore various areas including the Great Hall, chapel and turrets, plus the dungeon where unlucky waxwork Tudor prisoners reside. Guests will also have access to landscaped walled gardens which offer a tranquil spot to soak up the historic surrounds. There's a cafe serving up light bites and refreshments, and a gift shop which stocks mementoes.

A great place for children to learn and play.

Disappointing pretty little lawned garden with a cafe/tea room set inside the ruins of Castle walls. Would struggle to spend an hour there even having tea and cake. Expected more. There was a dressing up room which might appeal and amuse children under 10 but overall very disappointing and over priced.

A great bit of Welsh history. A great touch with the dressing up room the young ones.

The only disappointment was going into a couple of rooms and being confronted by desks and chairs laid out as a teaching room rather than something historical. On the plus side, the food served by the tearoom was delicious.

Charming castle, interesting history, not over developed or ‘gimmicky’. Pleasant coffee shop and proximity to a lovely beach make manorbier castle a must if in the area. You are able to visit the beach and return to castle on day of visit. Worth doing.

The coffee shop served absolutely delicious cakes -they weren't cheap but worth it. Sadly we were misinformed by the website and turned up expecting to do archery but the bee lady was there instead. Having said that the bees were fascinating. My granddaughter enjoyed dressing up in the period/ medieval costumes (aged 7) as did my niece and daughter (25 and 26) and nephew (aged 12)! Manobier beach is close by and worth a visit - the pebbles there are fascinating

Really interesting place with a lovely tearoom. There are steep steps to climb so must be physically able. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours and great views from the towers.
