We did enjoy ourselves but we wasn't overwhelmed with the hospitality we would expect from the luxury hotel that it was. Maybe we had set our expectations to high. We made a booking, but upon arrival, the member of staff did not appear to be expecting us. The portion size was satisfactory but we could have eaten a little more. The desserts weren't as advertised, we actually just received different versions of 'mochi' or glutinous rice cakes. It wasn't made clear how much tea we were allowed and we didn't receive our second serving until the very end when the waitress cleared our table. We both would have enjoyed 3 or 4 servings of tea and would have liked to tried different types. We sat in the 'conservatory', table in the middle by the window. The window frame needs a thorough deep clean and also a coat of paint. It was dirty and a little off putting. The staff were nice but could have been more attentive. Then we would have asked them for more tea. I think some investment into the fixtures and fittings would help the feeling of opulence and luxury return to the hotel. We probably would have spent more money at the venue if we felt we were in a more luxurious environment

Had Malaysian afternoon tea. First thing when entering we heard that they don't know where the chef is. luckily we didn't have to wait too long. we were served teh tarik tea which was basically English breakfast tea with condensed milk. didn't mind the taste and hoped that something nice and exotic will follow on the plates. Unfortunately there was not much on the plates. salmon springrolls nowhere to be seen and apart from chicken skewers everything was tasteless and looked awful. we were very disappointed and left to next door to have a proper cup of coffee and desert. I would not recommend this afternoon tea to anyone.
