About Freud Museum
Freud family home since 1938, the building at Maresfield Gardens has been converted into a museum dedicated to the life of the most famous psychoanalyst. Despite the present controversies surrounding his theories, Sigmund Freud has evolved the fields of psychology and psychiatry more than any other of his contemporaries. Visitors to the museum can see his study, preserved to look just like it used to during his active years, including the couch he invited his patients to lay on. Other attractions include the collection of antiquities from Egypt, Greece, Rome and other areas, as well as a large library that can be used as a research resource on request.
