International House London is a language school that offers its students a wide range of courses in a variety of languages. It focuses on spoken communication and interaction. With a history that can be traced back to 1953, the school pursues the goal to raise the standards of English language teaching and teacher training worldwide. It is famed for contributing greatly towards the formation and introduction of the Cambridge certificate CELTA, which is internationally recognised for English teachers. The Internation House London offers its students English courses that help them prepare for Cambridge exams such as FCE, CAE, CPE and IELTS. It also offers evening and weekend courses in French, Italian, Arabic, German, Spanish and Japanese. Both private and in-company language courses are available in these languages and others like Mandarin, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese. International House London is equipped with various facilities including 56 modern, air-conditioned classrooms, free Wi-Fi throughout the school, 60 student self-access computers, a Learning Resource Library with over 10,000 books, classroom computers, electronic, interactive whiteboards, and a digital language laboratory and ICT room. It also has a social programme that encourages its students to conduct different, fun activities on a daily basis. These include visits to London's museums, theatres, galleries and cinemas as well as day trips and football games. International House London lies close to many amenities like clubs, bars, local theatres and shops. The programme is geared towards cementing friendships and helping students practice their newly acquired language skills.
