About Great Central Railways

Travelling between Loughborough and Leicester, the Great Central Railway is a double-track main-line heritage railway. Guests can see full-size steam engines pass each other as each heads its way, just as it was when steam ruled the rails. Trains run every weekend and on bank holidays, with seasonal options including festive rides and 1940s Wartime Weekend. They also offer Drive a Locomotive experience, allowing little ones to feel the regulator of a massive steam locomotive right under their fingers.
