Trying to get an appointment at this place was hard enough to begin with I was told they were full until August which was fine for me as I needed to book time off anyway. I was told I’d have to call back in August and wasn’t given a specific date.
When the day of treatment came, I recieved a text asking if I could come later as the client before me had arrived late, when I replied asking what time they’d like us to come, I recieved no text for over an hour later, when I tried calling to ask what time I’d need to set off as the place is 40 Mins away they never answered. Then I was asked to come an hour and a half later than scheduled which was inconvenient for us.
I contacted Groupon asking for a refund and they told me I’d have to ask the “spa” so I did, they’d already redeemed my voucher upon booking, and assured me they couldn’t give me a refund but could book me in the next day and offered a free mini facial as an apology. I accepted this and booked in for the next morning.
When we arrived the following day, the shutters were down so I called them, the lady said it’s not 10am yet, she seemed put out, especially when she answered the door to us.
The place itself was less than attractive I honestly don’t know how or why they are so busy??? The standard of hygiene is shocking.
We were shown to a dressing room where we shown lockers with robes in them, the robes were damp, we we’re the first people to enter the building, so all I can assume is they were either wet from the day before or hadn’t been dried properly? The towels used for massage were also wet. This made me feel instantly uncomfortable.
The therapist was nice, she gave a quick consultation and asked throughout the treatment if everything was ok, her massage was actually ok, she was very pleasant and aimed to please.
When I asked were the toilet was there was no light in the toilet and no toilet paper, at which point I was told there was a problem with the light and was given a shred of couch roll to wipe with. This is not a place I would consider visiting again. I have had lots of Groupon offers in the past and I myself am a Groupon merchant and I would never treat my clients like the argana hammam did.
I found the place cold, dirty and lack lustre. I’ve had some really good deals off Groupon and just because something is a bargain it shouldn’t mean you should be treated like a second rate customer.
