Brillant place well worth a visit
Lovley meal in a great old house, well worth a visit
Great food and great service
Lovely location food good
Lovely 3 course meal served within acceptable time by some lovely staff. Drinks from the little bar are a little expensive but not OTT. We have been twice and would buy more vouchers if they were still available.
It was awful. We were expecting a menu to pick from. But there was nothing on the sheet of paper we were given to come anywhere near the prices that it said in your offer we could go up to. It was like a sunday lunch, but you did not have the choice like at a carvery. They just bought a plate out with your dinner on it. The meat was tough, the yorkshire pudding was burnt, the vegetables were all piled on top of one another.
The prawn cocktail was like I had never tasted before, it had tomatoes and cucumber in it, not just lettuce and prawns with the cocktail sauce.
Very pleasant helpfully staff. Meal was not and enjoyable
We were not booked for the time arranged so limitations on the menu
Lovely setting and polite staff. A poor quality pub meal in a restaurant setting. Warm white wine, beef so tough you could not chew or cut it. Rock hard and partially burnt roast potatoes that tasted awful. A random selection of veg and gravy brought out on your plate. Waiting staff willing but not organised. We were asked four times if we wanted to order dessert and when it arrived it was not what we asked for. After the starter we were asked if we wanted our dessert yet. Before we had finished they started moving around tables and chairs even though the place was half empty. Such a shame as it could be lovely. We did give this feedback to the staff as the manager was not there.
Nice place atmosphere, just took quite a while for the food and confusion regarding menu due to young inexperienced staff.
