From Our Editors
First opened in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie, whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with a 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialities include meticulously crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.
Staff very friendly, cream tea very nice
Lovely choice of sandwiches & cakes & fab service.
Very mediocre food, poor service. Lovely cakes in the window and what we got was like the £1 a box selection from icel
Food poor quality and the cakes were tiny and not the ones they display in the window of their cafe. Sandwiches were the size of my index finger and the ham sandwich was a thin strip of ham and lettuce. Scones were very dry and the coffee luke warm and bitter. I have had better cream teas at nearky half the cost. We were so disappointed. The waitress was good and friendly. The cream and Jam were fine. Not sure if this is the same at all the restaurants.
Paulo was just the best. Afternoon tea was excellent. I would go again
Great afternoon tea. Staff were lovely too.
The sandwiches and top level of the cake stand was very poor. One of the chicken sandwiche slices has no chicken or butter! It was two tiny slivers of brown bread! The cakes on the top level had been placed so badly, one slice had clearly fallen and that spread onto everything else (strawberry gateaux I think?!).we had a ten week old baby with us and we were very tight fidnfine with parking,so we didn’t complain -we absolutely should of though. Can’t fault the staff and the manager who seemed lovely. Just very disappointed with whoever put our cake stand together out the back. No care or attention at all. This was my second voucher, I won’t buy another one.
Great food, friendly and helpful
Professional and friendly, lovely relaxed atmosphere
Excellent service, a lovely selection of sandwiches, scones, and cakes. Afternoon tea as it should be.
