The West Lodge Rural Centre gives animal fans an opportunity to see a selection of farm animals and rare breeds, as well as handle smaller critters in Cuddle Corner. Other attractions include Goat Mountain, duck feeding, pony grooming, piglet races and seasonal activities such as Christmas nativities and Spring lamb feeding. The site features nature trails of various lengths to explore, taking in conservation space, woodlands, meadows, streams and ponds, with local wildlife ranging from birds to deer, rabbits, badgers and grass snakes. Indoor spaces are on-hand in case the British weather decides to be typically unpredictable, including barns and indoor play areas, while the den-making area gives visitors a chance to try their hand at making their own shelter. There’s also chances to take part in a barrel ride or see the centre from a new angle with a tractor tour, while meals, snacks, tea and cake are available in the on-site Rickyard restaurant.
