I have sent feed back to them and not received any response, this says it all, about their customer care. no wonder the place is empty. They need to emply somebody who can cook. All trip advisor comments were complaints with no response from The Chequers Inn.

The waitress was charming and welcoming, the same could not be said of the barman or the chef. The building clearly needs a makeover; at the moment it is a strange mixture of styles, most of them bad. Garden could be much improved. Salad carvery was nothing special. Pudding was good but probably from Makro..

This pub is terrible. Very badly run. Food is disgusting. Not value for money. Everything done on the cheap. Cut corners everywhere.

I paid for afternoon tea for two with Prosecco as gift to my son, the staff didn't know what Prosecco was there was no replacement drink just a cup of tea, the lady bar staff had two children with her she was shouting at the children all the time, they got a new chef that didn't know how to make a sandwich, they had three little sandwiches each 9 I and half slice of bread, no clotted cream for the scones it was whipped up double cream and the place smelled.

If you choose to run this type of offer again staff should know what they are supposed to be providing (the chef claimed he did not know what Prosecco was, and the wine was only provided after we queried its omission), and tea is normally provided by the pot not by individual cup with a high charge for refills.
