From Our Editors

Set against a statuesque cliff backdrop, St Andrews Aquarium feature a procession of sea life, creepy-crawlies and furry mammals. The centre hosts birthday parties and school trips for marine-mad munchkins, and has cemented its family-friendly credentials with a nomination for Best Visitor Attraction at the Scottish Thistle Awards 2014. An on-site cafe lets guests rest weary legs and quench hunger pangs with freshly-baked cakes, while the gift shop stocks an array of educational toys and mementos. Visitors after more than a stroll round the exhibits can get hands-on in seal, penguin and meerkat feeding sessions. The aquarium opens its door seven days a week.

Really nice place for short family trip. Quite small exposition but for my girls enough for 40 minutes slowly walk around. Highlight : feeding seals, meerkats and lizards. Café and bistro beside of exposition is fine enough for coffee or quickly lunch. Staff was really friendly and helpful every time when we was there. Highly recommended for families with primary school children.

Glad we had a voucher I wouldn't like to have paid the full price. It was good, lots to see and we watched the penguins being fed, although couldn't hear what the guy was saying could have done with a microphone . As usual with these places you have to go through the shop to get into the centre, but pricey . Kids enjoyed it which was the main thing We didn't use the cafe but looked nice

VERY disappointed in this purchase and family outing. Had wed pay full price i wouldve requested a refund. It took us about an hour to get there, and less than 30mins to walk all of the exhibits. The animals were in awful conditions - penguin area hadnt been cleaned in ages. Pooh and urine coating the penguins coats and their water. Id swear the alligator/crocodile turtle was dead in the water. You walk down the stairs after checking in and thru the gift shop. The first area is maybe 6 aquariums of fish. From there you can go straight back to see 2 snakes and the penguins, or you can go down to see the meercats, shark/sting ray exhibit. After this you continue on to see another 4 aquariums of turtle and crocodiles and venture outside again to see the seals. The seals look bored and in a tiny area - but were quite receptive to seeing people. BEYOND disappointed in what was there, how it was presented and the conditions the animals were kept in.
