From Our Editors

Providing locals with food and drink since the 15th Century, The Crown Stirrup has a long history of service. Real ales and hearty British food is on offer, whilst the pub itself is situated in the stunning New Forest. The forest itself is deceptively named, being almost 1,000 years old, and is ideal for a pleasant walk before enjoying a filling meal at The Crown Stirrup.

Lovely pub, nice atmosphere & staff. One of the best & really tender steaks I have had in a long while, served with proper home cooked fresh veg. The choice of wine & beer was good too. Will return!

The Managers were friendly & welcoming and the steaks were great. Lovely open log fire. Weather was awful, so we didn't get to do our planned walk in the Forest from the back of the pub. Next time!

This was our first visit here, and we will definitely go again. Lorraine was very welcoming and our meal, (steak) very nicely cooked but a bit gristly. I would reccomend it.

Steak was fantastic.amazingly tender, veg could have been better, and would be nice to have another sauce on offer, apple crumble proper home made, will revisit to try the pie as the female chef is very good, pub rather quiet and glen cambel playing all evening boring, pub feels like a "local" for nearby residents but log fire burning made it feel cosy.
