Founded by Nonno Pino in Rome, who opened his first pastry shop in 1965, it later became a family venture with Papa’ Enrico taking over in 1982. Enrico Jr., inspired by his family's legacy, moved to England and opened Monti after five years of hard work. Supported by his parents, Monti blends good food, good company, and happy memories. Lovely food, great atmosphere. Child menu a tad expensive and they could do with closing the door as it was cold. We will be buying the deal again.

Lovely restaurant, staff and food superb. Great atmosphere and felt so welcome. Staff could not be nicer, attentive but not overpowering. Had a really nice starter, mains and dessert. Love this restaurant.

This is the best Italian restaurant in Southend-on-Sea. Everything is homemade and delicious! They serve traditional and authentic Italian food, with warm service. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful family run Italian restaurant, 4 of us went for an early dinner on the Groupon deal, before going on to the Cliffs to see a show, food & service was amazing, restaurant was very busy even at the early time of 6 o’clock, we all enjoyed our meals & will definitely be back again soon
