The tea was very nice. We also enjoyed the optional free tour - our guide was a very good story teller. It made the whole thing very complete and different to just afternoon tea out!

We had a cream tea .....only one scone but you do get the choice of fruit or plain....a huge pot of tea for one...would think there were at least 5 cups in it. We went on a groupon offer £9 for 2 people including an optional tour of the Abbey ....these are free anyway but there were only 5 of us in the group that went round on the ,groupon, tour and that was good. The staff were very polite ,£4,50 was about right for the cream tea ...but do think there should have been 2 scones....they w ere not very big.

Try and get there in time for the guided tour of the Cathedral first, most informative and doesn't make you feel guilty having the cream tea afterwards!

Food was ok but we have had much better afternoon teas. 1 vegetarian was requested but this left my other half with ham or smoked Salmon and not liking smoked salmon he had some of the egg and cheese (vegi??) sandwiches, leaving me very little. There were no cakes and one scone each which was fresh but not warm. Normally I can not eat everything but on this occasion I was left wanting more. Service was good, staff were friendly and area was pleasant.
