I am sure the permanent location is much nicer than the current marquee. Sandwiches were a bit dry and not enough soft drink options, prosecco would also be a nice touch. Also no need to book through groupon as no saving, it took over 2 hours to book via groupon so would have been easier to walk in and just get a table.

We loved it. Due to the building work the tea is served in a marquee outside which overlooks the park and is just as nice as the Abbots Kitchen . When we went in April there were heaters and it was very comfortable. The staff who were lovely had gone to lots of trouble to lay out nice china with pretty doily table mats, the tea was plentiful and home made scones delicious. We also took a fascinating tour of the Abbey with a very interesting and informative guide who brought it's long history to life. Don't miss the opportunity to include the tour. Five stars for the Abbots Kitchen certainly.

Tea is served in a marquee next to the cathedral because the original resturant is under refurbishment. However, the tea was still very nice and the table was reserved and setup for tea. The marquee is light and airy.
