A lot of the menu items were not available when we visited - we were not advised of this until we placed our order.

Pretty sure none of the food was actually cooked on the premise .. the pub itself is tired and unkempt. Where we were sat the fire grate hadn't been emptied and there were dirty napkins chucked on there. There was also a section that looked like a dumping ground just to the left of our table. I had a meat platter for starter which I could have done better myself at. Dipping oil vinegar lacked any flavour. Main was a plenty pie Breton which as it was bought in was tasty enough but the gravy was thin and with 7 chips.... Pudding was definitely microwaved within an inch of its life.... Staff pleasant enough. Won't be going back.

What a lovely pub/restaurant, 15th century very homely and welcoming. The food was delicious 😋 we had the beef and venison pies, scampie and ribeye steak. All cooked to perfection and generous portions. The same with the deserts. Highly recommended.
