The afternoon tea was lovely. The hotel was lovely. The email replies from staff were very helpful and thank you for extending the voucher. However we felt very 'abandoned' on the day. Lady greeted us at the reception and told us to go to the bar where someone would serve us. We went through and waited but no one arrived. I went to the desk again and the lady said she would let someone know. We aired again for some time. Another guest arrived and said its nice here but they are a bit 'dozy'. A while later a man came to us with our afternoon tea and a pot of tea. There has been no introduction/ greeting before this. It would have been nice and more appropriate if he had come to us first, said good afternoon and asked if we had any dietary requirements etc. As the sandwiches were out in front if us and he had no idea whether or not we ate ham etc. Fortunately we didn't and thoroughly enjoyed our food. However I don't drink tea or coffee and my friend told him that when he brought the whole afternoon tea including a latge pot of tea. Very kindly the man brought me some hot chocolate which again was very nice, but this large pot of tea was far too much for one person and had he spoken to us first it would have cut down on wastage. That was the last we saw of any staff once the tea was served. The bar was left empty and unattended. My friend would have liked a glass of wine but there was no one to serve us. After finishing our food we got up and left. There was no one at reception to say goodbye or thank you to. so although we enjoyed the food etc we felt rather let down by the lack of attention from staff, who in the short time we did see them appeared to be very nice. So I ticked yes I'd come back but really meant 'possibly' this place has great potential for another visit but it was an uncomfortable feeling of being 'abandined' that spoilt the day. It was like having afternoon tea on the Marie Celeste. But thank you the tea itself was really nice. This is not a complaint rather a note for improvement.

I would definitely recommend the Buckatree Hotel for afternoon tea. Comfortable seating area, lovely food and friendly, professional staff throughout.

We thought the afternoon tea was a bit sparce. Not many sandwiches and stingy on the amount of fillings. Quite expensive for what we received. Warm mulled wine was lovely

Purchased Winter Warmer Afternoon Tea for 2 via groupon offer. Did not feel we got a good deal as we would question whether we were actually given the exact same menu as full price one--If we were then Buckatree Hall Hotel Winter Warmer Afternoon Tea is poor value for money.

When we arrived at 2.30 all the doors were open, we had to ask the staff to shut the one before we could sit down, we had the mulled wine which waS lukewarm, we had the food bought over with the tea, the sandwiches were dry, but the cakes were fine, we asked the staff for hot water because the tea was not hot, she bought it in a mug.. We tried to get her attention to say it was still cold but she was busy, finally managing to get her attention she bought us another pot, it was not the girls fault she was very pleasant but just busy, we had been looking forward to it but it did not meet expectations.
