Coldharbour Mill is a wool-spinning mill opened in 1799. The old Mill, now museum, still has the original machinery and uses the original methods. Guests can enjoy a tour and can learn about the history of South West's textile industry. There is an on-site shop and picnic area.

Well informed staff, we went on a steam day, where the machinery was being demonstrated. Saw the process of turning raw fleece into knitting wool, and also weaving. Ideal visit for the grandchildren and adults alike. Garden and picnic area. I believe it is open on New Year's Day as a steam day, good for an after Christmas family visit. Shop sells knitting wool spun in the mill as well as other items. Recommended.

Wouldn't pay full price. It's a smallish charity doing their best, still needs further investment and volunteers to make it work more effectively.

Children loved the dollhouses, dressing up and the WW11 air raid shelter. They enjoyed the machine demos and museum at first but lost interest half-way round. It was fascinating for us adults, loved all of it! Not somewhere for a full day out, and I expect the event day "Steam Day" would be amazing!

What a great day out, so interesting and informative. All staff and volunteers were so helpful, polite and courteous. The steam day was absolutely superb, both my wife and I loved it, seeing how a Victorian wool mill operated. The steam tour was also superb, the guide new everything and more and made the tour as interesting as it could ever be. A great day out if your into steam, engineering, textiles and Victorian working life. We will certainly be visiting the mill again next year, to see how the proposed new workshop is progressing and to enjoy the mill again.

An interesting and enjoyable experience, took the grandchildren it gave them an insight into the conditions that people endured working in the mills and factories in the past. The staff were very helpful and willing to explain all aspects of the mill. Has a excellent cafe attached to the site and a play area with picnic tables so caters for all.
