Sitting pretty on the eastern edge of the South Downs National Park, The Forge with its immediate surrounds populated by golf courses aplenty. The town of Lewes is just 15 minutes away, which is home to Lewes Castle and Anne of Cleves House, in addition to many other historic buildings, farmers' markets and independent shops. All guest bedrooms feature en suite bathrooms, LCD TVs, refreshment trays, hairdryer and complimentary Wi-Fi. Food is traditional with a contemporary twist, where main courses take the form of dishes such as locally-sourced wild boar and apple sausages with mashed potatoes and onion gravy, or spinach and three cheese cannelloni with mixed leaves. A tasty cream tea is also available for afternoon nibbles, fuelling exploration with cake, pastries and sandwiches, with a finale of scones piled high with jam and clotted cream.
