From Our Editors

Brewing since 1777, Hall and Woodhouse is one of the independent regional brewers in the UK, owned and run by the seventh generation of the Woodhouse family. Over the years Hall and Woodhouse established a pub estate of over 200 beautiful pubs in great locations across the South of England. Badger beer remains the golden thread that runs throughout the business and the award-winning beers can be found exclusively on cask in pubs and in bottles and cans in leading supermarkets and off-licences. The Brewery Shop provides one with the opportunity to purchase from the wide range of Badger beers. With each brew inspired by traditional flavours and recipes from the countryside, there is something for everyone. The Brewery shop also stocks latest Limited Edition ales as well as a unique collection of Badger merchandise.

Brought as a birthday pressie for four of us, Nice couple of hours spent with a very knowledgeable chap on his retirement day, we had a drink at the end with our tasters voucher which was good and decided to get lunch as well Don't have the chicken dippers for a starter they are a rip off 31/2 breaded slices and a dip for £5 We couldn't believe it as we had a prawn sandwich that cost 50p more and was great sandwich side salad and chips also two plough mans which were great We complained about the dippers which was sorted out but the management need to sort that out as it was a rip off. Hiwever we were impressed with everything else nice half day out well recommended

A glass as a momento of the tour would have been lovely. Other brewery tours do offer this.

The tour was disappointing for us, for a brewery with a long history it was a shame there were no displays, videos or examples of things such as coopering, etc. You are basically shown around a small and very modern part of the brewery full of all the latest automated brewing equipment with hardly an operator to be seen, basically a micro brewery on a larger scale. Even with the drink at the end and the Groupon price we would hesitate to recommend it, shame.
