Dating back to the 10th century, Avington Park is a Grade I-listed private home with grounds bordering the River Itchen. Guided tours take in many of the Georgian manor's highlights, including the library, conservatory and ballroom, while there's also a tea bar on-site for guests to replenish energy levels. The building is also a popular site for filming locations.
Amazing house and grounds - with a truly rich history. Well worth the visit.
Very informative about the building . Great guide
Beautiful place to visit. Grounds are stunning as well as the house
What a lovely and interesting place to visit.
Anne led the tour of the house that we were on and really brought the place to life for us. She was extremely knowledgable and even had my two teenagers asking questions.
The afternoon tea was lovely too.
Everyone from the ladies on the door to the girl in the tea room was welcoming and warm.
The grounds are wonderful with their formal flower beds and idyllic views of the Itchen...all in all a thoroughly enjoyable visit.
Was a really nice experience and a very well informed guide.
Guided tour, grounds and tea all excellent.
Lovely afternoon, great to discover this picturesque spot. Fabulous grounds and very knowledgeable tour guide.
Absolutely lovely afternoon out at a beautiful house and grounds, very well organised, the tour guide was delightful and informative. Cream tea was superb. Oh how the other half live :-)
Very enjoyable afternoon, knowledgeable guide. Have lived in Winchester area all my life but had no idea of the history attached to Avington Park
We have been on our second visit and both times, we have enjoyed Avington Park and the cream tea. Highly recommended.
