From Our Editors

Winchester Science Centre is a charity-run interactive centre looking to get visitors interested in science and its various practical applications through hands-on learning. The Science Centre houses the largest capacity planetarium in the UK with live and pre-recorded 360 degree full-dome shows. It is open to the general public seven days a week and has over 150,000 visitors per annum. There's a free on-site car park, cafe and a science shop, and the centre also runs events aimed just at adults including live presenter-led planetarium shows on Saturday nights.

The Groupon deal was for a planetarium showing, these were limited times & programmes. The voucher time was 17.10 and we arrived a few mins early. We were told the actual show was 17.30, you are only allowed in the shop so had 25 mins to wait. The show itself Back to the Moon was very poor compared to other planetarium shows and seemed one big advert for google. It was most disappointing.

Really great place, will definitely visit again & see everything next time. I feel this should be advertised more only discovered this place through Groupon. More advertising, more visitors can only be a good thing! Will recommend for sure

The Back to the Moon show was incredibly disappointing. Short, no interaction from staff and half of the film was just dull. Details on the website sounded much more intriguing.

We saw the "Back to the Moon For Good" show. It seemed like a big advert for Google's X Prize, which was a huge disappointment. We were expecting more science. If the show had carried a title similar to "How others are involved in sending a robot to Mars to win £30m from Google" it would have managed our expectations better. ALso it talked about "For Good" and didn't go into any of the challenges of setting up a colony on the moon or why or whether it was likely to happen.

I gather you are making it possible to go to the Planetarium without having to go to the Science centre - that's good
