Nestled among the Lake District's rolling landscape and namesake lakes, The Queen's Head is situated midway between Windermere and Ambleside, both of which are around a 15-minute drive away and lend themselves to the outdoor pursuits for which the area is famed. The World of Beatrix Potter, the world's only attraction dedicated to the Author's literary creations, is just a hop, skip and a jump away, as is the Armitt Museum which celebrates the history of the area. Guest rooms are individually decorated with antique furniture in-keeping with the 17th century architecture of the building. Updates for the the modern traveller include en suite facilities, TV and complimentary Wi-Fi Breakfasts are a hearty affair, with a wide selection of hot items such as the full English and poached smoked haddock, or continental options such as croissants and cereals The restaurant serves up a wide selection of fresh, seasonal fare with a menu which complements the activity-led schedules of the visitors to the area, utilising local produce.
