What to Expect

• 90 minute alpaca walk experience for One, Two or Four (including a 15 minute health and safety talk)

  • Located in the outskirts, Alpaca walking is great for those who wants to try an acitivity of a different nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the urban life.
  • Safety Talk The experience begins the instructor stating some alpaca facts with a health and safety isntructions, before demonstrating how to lead the alpaca.
  • After that alapaca pairing happens and trekking escapade begins. There would be brief time spent for pictures and alpaca selfies!
  • Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Not suitable for chidlren aged 4 and under. Also, possibly for children aged up to 6 since it requires a walking upto 90 minutes and some rough terrains.
  • Children aged and under 4 must be in a carrier.

• Charnwood Forest Alpacas is located in Boundary, a hamlet nestled on the Leicestershire and Derbyshire border and situated on the outskirts of Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
• The 110 acre farm at Charnwood Forest Alpacas is one of the first, original and largest alpaca farms open to the public in the UK.
• They are passionate about sharing the wonderful personalities of not just alpacas, but all of the animals at the farm, and offer experiences that can get people close to nature and away from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

Good to Know

• 0-9 years old - No ticket required (*must be accompanied by 1 paying adult (18+); ratio of child to adult 1:1)

• Suitable Clothing an Footwear.

• Sun cream dn hats for sunny days, waterproofs and wellies for wetter days.

• A small change would be handy if customers wish to purchase alpaca feed - 1 pound per bag.

• A degree of physical fitness is required as it involves unaided walk for 90 minutes.

• Adult Companion requirements

• Under 9's are free with a paying adult

• 10+ years old - ticket required, Under 15's must also be accompanied by a paying adult (18+)
