The iconic First Class Lounge offers electronic reclining sofas and armchairs for ultimate comfort.
Enjoy table service from 7.00pm – 7.40pm daily, with the film starting at 7.50pm, with an extensive selection of drinks and classic cinema favourites delivered straight to your seat.
Our new Platinum Suites screen opened late 2024, and offers electronic sofa and armchair cocoon seating. Evening table service is also available in our Platinum Suites screen 6pm – 6.30pm daily.
About The Dominion Cinema
The only independent and family-run cinema in Edinburgh, The Dominion has been delivering unforgettable movie experiences for more than 87 years.
Opened on 31st January 1938 by Captain W Cameron, the Cinema's first film feature was “Wee Willie Winkie” starring Shirley Temple. Designed in stunning Art Moderne style by architect T. Bowhill Gibson, the venue has evolved to feature four screens and a private screening lounge.

No Online Bookings. Voucher is valid for the First Class & Gold One Screen and Platinum Suites Screen only. Valid Sunday – Friday only, excludes Saturdays. Not valid for Gold Screens Three and Four.

Daily evening table service is available for First Class tickets (excludes Gold One tickets) and Platinum Suites tickets, subject to timings. Limit 1 voucher per person and 1 as a gift.
You are welcome to redeem your voucher on the day, subject to availability. If you would like to book in advance, you can do this a maximum of 4 days in advance of the screening.
Once you have booked your tickets and your voucher has been redeemed, we cannot exchange or refund the tickets should you cancel or not attend the screening. The beginning and end period of a voucher’s validity is always the busiest, to avoid disappointment we recommend booking in advance. You can either bring your printed voucher with you to book in person or you can present your voucher on your phone, we require the security code to redeem the voucher.

Specific Films or genres are not guaranteed and are subject to what is playing in our First Class & Gold One Screen and Platinum Suites at the time of booking. The closer to the vouchers expiry will leave you with less choice, we recommend using your voucher as early as possible, or checking our website before booking to ensure you are happy with the films available.

About Dominion Cinema
The Art Deco Dominion Cinema has served its patrons for nearly 85 years. Mainstream releases are screened alongside homegrown and independent films. The cinema’s interior harks back to the golden age of the silver screen with leather seating and a classic, deep-red colour scheme. Four screens host afternoon and evening showings, as well as private functions and events such as The Royal Opera House live screenings.
