After completing an initial questionnaire that aims to probe deep into their personality, those looking for love and companionship will receive a personality profile offering insights into their own characteristics, as well as suggestions of suitable attributes in a partner. eHarmony’s system will then use this data to measure compatibility with other members in various key relationship areas, such as intellect and sense of humour. A few matches deemed to be highly compatible are sent out each day, offering the chance to browse their profiles and send icebreakers. Members can then communicate more regularly, if they like, to see if there is a spark, either with pointers from the site’s Guided Communication process or using eHarmony Mail to talk freely.
