The Deal

Budding boatmen can take to the water solo, as a pair or a trio, with a half day of kayaking courtesy of Exe Adventures. Visitors will be participate in fun and games on the surface of the Rive Exe over the course of the four hour experience. As well as giving tuition on handling the kayaks, the instructors will also impart their knowledge of the local area and the wildlife that inhabits it.

Groupon Asks Sam McClure of Exe Adventures about his favourite activities and what to bring on the day.

G: How did you get into outdoor activities?

“From a young age, I had a go at everything that was offered to me. I went on to study related subjects at university, worked in Camp America, taught multi-adventure activites to children in Iowa and travelled to Australia and Fiji to see what they had to offer. Now I want to bring it all to South Devon.”

G: Which activities do you offer?

“Kayaking and canoeing, walking, rambling, body-boarding, surfing and coasteering.”

G: Which is your favourite?

“I don’t really have one, but I have been a water baby since I was a child. I really enjoy playing in the water, whether on a beach in the waves or on a safe river with lots of other experienced kayak paddlers.”

G: What should people bring with them on the day?

“Everything you need to go paddling is given to you; clothing, safety equipment and a dry bag, so don’t forget to bring your camera as there are lots of exciting things to see. Also, don’t forget to bring some money and a phone. People can call me to pick them up when they’re done.”
