Last year, food redistributed by the charity contributed to over 10 million meals. Donations of £1 can help to deliver enough food for four meals, and 100% of the funds raised will go direct to the charity.

Who is FareShare?
They are a unique charity who fight hunger and its underlying causes by redistributing surplus food to 1,000 local charities across the UK. By ensuring good food is not wasted they turn an environmental problem into a solution, helping to feed thousands of vulnerable people every day.

What issue is the charity tackling?
5.8 million people live in deep poverty in the UK, meaning they struggle to afford everyday essentials like food. Meanwhile, 3.9 million tonnes of food is wasted every year. FareShare works to turn this problem into a solution by redistributing this good quality food to more than 1,000 charities across the country.

Who does FareShare work with?
Their beneficiaries include homeless shelters, women’s refuge centres, drug rehabilitation centres, luncheon clubs for the elderly and children’s breakfast clubs.

How does FareShare help?
Last year the charity redistributed 4,200 tonnes of food, enough for more than 10 million meals. This is mainly fresh produce such as fruit, vegetables and meat that FareShare’s member charities turn into nutritious meals for their clients.
